Learning and honing the craft
Since 2014, I’ve worked as a Lead Linguist and Translator/Proofreader of Azerbaijani at Lionbridge, which is where I gained my knowledge of customer-specific style guides.
Before that, in addition to freelancing, I worked in Prague, Czech Republic (and lived there for six and a half years!) for three global corporations – Cisco, International SOS Assistance and SAP.

I worked in the Sales Department, in which I earned my skills in IT, sales, commerce and marketing.

As an employee of International SOS Assistance …
I served as a Medical Operations Coordinator, which involved daily interpretation and translation of communication between service providers such as clinics, hospitals and doctors around the globe, as well as insurance companies for repatriation, medical appointments and legal documents.
This experience gave me first-hand exposure to medical consultations, healthcare coordination, insurance matters, repatriation and legal documentation in multilingual environments.

Accounts Payable Associate was my position. And it was an excellent role at broadening my understanding of accounting, finance, and audit terminology.

An artist is never finished
Just like a great artist, a great translator knows that perfection is a never-ending quest. To continue creating masterpieces, one must always keep their skills sharp and their mind eager.
My core work is Azerbaijani translation and interpreting, complemented by English-Russian consecutive interpreting for professional, legal and medical settings. From CIOL and ATA courses and webinars to MOOCs and Proz.com trainings, I always find time to continue learning and evolving.
